yes, bible thumpers can try so hard to refute this argument but they forget that this fairy tale bible is supposedly the word of “god”. this means it should be perfect! so assuming god is perfect and all-intelligent then why couldn’t he simply have said that pi is exactly equal to the 4*[ integral (from 0 to 1) of the square-root of (1-x^2) dx]. I mean even though the calculus wasn’t invented by man until Newton came along, this would have been easy for “god” even without Newton to hold his hand and walk him through an infinite series expansion.

god freaks need to either take the bible as exact and perfect or dismiss it as a cute book of literature no more relevant to reality then the story of the tooth fairy. and if they choose the first then they have to say that pi is exactly 3.0 funny story: my dad is a civil engineer but also a fundamental xtian jesus lover and always says that the bible is exact and perfect. so of course he believes in creationism/intelligent design. When I brought this up, I told him that each time he builds a building and uses his hp calculator’s pi button he is being hypocritical because his bible says that pi is 3. this pissed him off. He called me like a week later after talking to his preacher on sunday and spouted some nonsense gibberish similar to what some other bible humpers above have already said such as: inside vs outside diameter and approximation nonsense etc. lmfao

OK boys I’ll say it a different way. the cookie dough is rolled out you take a water glass and cut out a cookie the diameter of the glass is 10 the circumference of the cookie is 30 how thick is the rim of the glass.

Nobody can compute exact value of Pi.
And nobody can say diameter of given circle.
If I say, that circumference is 30,
it standardly means 30+/-0.5.
If I say, that diameter is 10, it means 10+/-0.5,
so, Pi=(30+/-0.5):(10+/-0.5)=3.0+/-0.2,
which is correct.
Q.E.D.

The Gnostic tradition has it that that Yahweh, the god of the Old Testament, was a lesser (evil) god and that Jesus brought knowledge (or revelation) of the true higher God. Therefore, it is understandable that the lesser (evil) Yahweh may well have go the math wrong in the Old Testament story of Kings being that he was more interested in establishing brutal laws and smiting people that didn’t bow down to him. The True God of the new testament would have gotten the pi right. Although, it would have made the new testament quite a bit longer after all the decimal places were written out

Oy vey. You all have too much time on your hands and need to get girlfriends (or boyfriends, whatever your preference may be, I really don’t care).

Look, its real simple as to why secularist attitudes about this scripture are fallacious. For all of you secularists out there trying to prove this verse wrong because of some inexact mathematics, I challenge you with this in response:

Show me a PERFECT circle, or perfectly circular object. I actually want to see one. I say this because no such thing exists. There is and always will be error in the reality of this world when measured by an ideal. If you do not show me a perfect circle or circular object in this world, then according to your logic, this world must not exist! Thats why such an argument is rediculous. Mathematics are an ideally perfect instrument used to measure everything in this world that is imperfect. There is nothing that stands to the ideal of mathematics.
